I’m L.Z. Cathcart—author of dark, twisted fantasy where dangerous women rewrite the rules, the gods have their own agendas, and magic always demands something in return. When Vengeance Bleeds Royal is my debut novel and the first in The Blood Descent Series—a story about power, secrets, betrayal, and what happens when you decide the throne is yours to take, not beg for.
I write for the ones who were too quiet, too much, too angry, too emotional. The ones who were told to wait their turn or lower their voice. The ones who didn’t get the crown—but took the sword anyway.

But like any good story, there’s a twist. I don’t just write in shadows—I paint in light.
When I’m not crafting morally gray disasters and magical weapons, I create whimsical, joy-soaked artwork full of florals, creatures, and quiet wonder. (Basically, if my art were a person, it would clutch pearls at my books.)
I’m also an avid animal lover, a professional chaos manager (read: mom), and someone who definitely lights too many candles while rewriting emotionally damaging scenes.
